The Rathinampillai market located in the center of the city attracts thousands of people everyday from morning 5 a.m. itself. From sunrise to sunset one can see people carrying the Palaappazham (as the Jackfruit is locally called) on their heads, on bullock carts, two-wheelers, buses and cars.
